Following his box-office smash performance in the History of the Bible, Pastor Randy Powell from the FBC of Franklin has been asked by the Academy of Christian Training and Service to once again bless and encourage us by offering another continuing education course, this time on The History of the Church. In this 3-part series, Pastor Powell seeks to highlight some of the most important ideas, people, and movements within the universal Church during its two-thousand year history.
- In part 1: the Early Church, the Early heresies regarding the person of Jesus, the Ecumenical Councils, and St. Augustine are the focus.
- In part 2: Monasticism, the power struggle between popes and emperors/kings, the Great Schism, and the Crusades are discussed.
- In part 3: The Reformation, the Thirty Years War, the Modern Missions Movement, and the status of the Church in the World Today are discussed.
The course will be offered for three consecutive Tuesday evenings in June (June 9,16 and 23) from 7:00-9:00pm. Once again this will be a FREE course, aimed at encouraging you in the midst of these challenging days. .6 continuing education units will be offered for the class. We are doing this on the ‘honor system’, so as long as you attend the class all three Thursday evenings and contact Frank Frischkorn following the class to request the CEU, we will be happy to honor your request.
